Here's four clips of WCAU-TV's "The Big News." It was Tuesday, July 8, 1969. The Dean of Anchors, John Facenda (a member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia until his death in 1984), was on vacation that day. Filling in was Channel 10's Weatherman Herb Clarke, a member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia. By the way, the booth announcer who was heard on the ID and news open was a very young Jack Jones (before his anchor days).

On Sports, it was former Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Back, Tom Brookshier, also a member of our organization.

Substituting for Herb doing weather was our own Gene Crane, who spent a half century at the WCAU stations.

There's also commentary by Donald Barnhouse. While this was a WCAU-TV, Channel 10 broadcast, we only have audio.
