The Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia in association with The Rowan University of College of Communication held our second annual "Careers in Broadcasting" night. That year in 2004, the event was held in Bozorth Auditorium on the campus of Rowan University and the room was packed to capacity.

Broadcast professionals from the Philadelphia media market shared their successes and expertise. Students learned how successful major market stations operate. They got tips on getting that "first job." It was truly an exciting evening.

It all took place on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 and the evening was moderated by Keith Brand of WXPN Radio. Keith is also a professor at Rowan and is a member of our Board of Directors.

On the panel, we had:

Pat Delsi, President of PDS Broadcasting & former owner of WSSJ Radio
David Dye, host of "The World Cafe," which is heard over 200 radio stations
Scott Palmer, WPVI-TV, 6 ABC Action News Anchor
Karen Thomas, Fox 29 News Anchor & Rowan University Graduate
Bill "Wee Willie" Webber, WPHL-TV, WPEN-AM, WIP-AM
Caroline Foy Welch, Vice-President of Programming, WPVI-TV, Channel 6

Admission was absolutely free and it was a packed house.
The event was co-sponsored by our student group, "The Future Broadcast Pioneers."
