The WFIL Radio Organist
Widener Building
Center City Philadelphia
1938

This is a picture from 1938. This local program, sort of a radio forerunner to Larry Ferrari, broadcast organ music live, originating from the WFIL studios in the Widener Building in center city Philadelphia. In the forties, Mil Spooner was the WFIL organist and beginning in 1954 until his death in 1997, Larry Ferrari held that position. We do not have an identification for the person playing the organ in this snapshot. If you have any ideas, please let us know.
