Larry Kane
WQAM Radio
1959

This is a picture of famed Philadelphia news anchor Larry Kane, a member of the Broadcast Pioneers. It was taken in 1959, when Florida high school student Kane worked nights as a radio news reporter for WQAM in Miami.

Larry started with the station in 1957 as a high school football reporter. After awhile, he worked his way into the news department as a gopher, writer and finally a part-time newscaster (at age 17).
