Pete Boyle

1951

Pete Boyle was a legend in Philadelphia television. Here's a photo from Sunday, September 16, 1951 at the fourth annual Delaware County Horse Show and Country Fair held at the Wyola Farms in Newtown Square, PA, on the estate of Mr. & Mrs. Frank L. O'Brien, Jr.

The horse, by the way, was called "Topper" and was Hopalong Cassidy's horse on the TV show. None of the children in the picture have been identified except for Lynn Powell Dougherty, who is in the center of the photo and behind her and to her left is her sister Janie. Lynn was voted the cutest cowgirl at the show.
