Here's two ads from the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin. They advertised a couple of CBS Radio Network broadcasts carried over WCAU in Philadelphia. The date of the ad is unknown. Broadcast Pioneers member Charlie Higgins feels it's from the era of WWII. However, research of the actual radio shows point to a slightly later date, probably 1947.

The Mayor of the Town featured Lionel Barrymore and Agnes Moorehead as his housekeeper. The program also has the character, Butch, the Mayor's ward.

The Man Called X series was considered by many to be mediocre. Marshall portrayed American secret agent Ken Thurstone. Thurstone was also nicknamed The Man Called X, thus the title of the series. Leon Belasco played his goofy contact person, Pegon Zeldschmidt.
