Liz Matt
Fall 1957

Broadcast Pioneers member Liz Matt tells us:

This is Liz Matt, being selected (as a result of being an outstanding talker at the young age of 6!) to welcome the Roman Catholic Bishop of Philadelphia when he visited her parish, St John of the Cross in Roslyn, PA. I am shown on our front lawn in Roslyn.

Famous family story: The bishop (It was probably Bishop Joseph Mark McShea) looks at the flowers in her hair and asks, "What kind of flowers are they, young lady?" Answers young Liz Matt, without hesitation: "Artificial." Kids say the darndest things.
