Broadcast Pioneers member Timothy Kastner is currently director of digital media and video production for The Philadelphia Orchestra, responsible for overseeing audio and video projects, media licensing, royalties, contracts, archives, radio, and television.

Prior to moving to Philadelphia, Mr. Kastner was an educator and engineer on Music Row in Nashville, TN. He served as course coordinator at SAE Institute’s audio technology program. While in this position, he successfully maintained daily operations and scheduling of over 20 studios including SSL, NEVE, 5.1 surround Pro Tools control surfaces, a mastering suite, and multiple editing and MIDI studios. He saw the organization through a successful reaccreditation, installed a campus library, created curriculum and workshops, built relationships with industry organizations for seminars and student discounts, and served as faculty representative for the Audio Engineering Society.

Kastner also taught studio broadcasting in the communications program at Austin Peay State University and music technology courses at Nashville State Community College.

In addition to his work at the Orchestra, Tim also owns Echotone Music, which has provided audio services to many artists and organizations including the U.S. Navy, Keith Urban, WAPX Radio, Hank Williams Jr., Alan Parsons, Seymour Duncan, James Burton, Reeves Gabrels, Victor Wooten, Marty Raybon, Vince Gill, and Emmy Lou Harris. He has also been published by Tape Op magazine.

Timothy received his Masters of Arts in Communications from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, and his Bachelor of Science in Communications from Middle Tennessee State University with a Major in Recording Production and Technology and a Minor in Entertainment Technology. He holds certification in AVID's Protools and is a member of the Audio Engineering Society, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, SoundExchange, and BMI.
