Title shot
Action in the Afternoon
WCAU-TV, Channel 10, Philadelphia
1953

This show was live and the opening graphics were shot over a live shot so each day, it looked a little different as we see from the two title shots shown above. Here's several stills from the show.

Although the show had hundreds of episodes, only 5 are known to exist today. That's because the show was live and the only way to record it was to film it off a TV monitor, called kinescoping. It was costly and thus rarely done. We have two condensed shows, both from the same week. One was from early in the week and the other aired on Friday.

In our opinion, the Real Video version is clearer and sharper!
