Broadcast Pioneers member Gary Hendler began working at Universal Record Distributors here in Philadelphia at the young and tender age of 14. He started in the mail room sending new record releases to the radio stations and disc jockeys. He worked his way up to Client/Artist relations as well as promoting new records at the radio stations.

Gary served as Hy Lits manager for years until Hy died in 2007. Hendler also hosts a record and radio get-together called "Breakfast at Tiffany's" for the past 12 years.

Gary was awarded last year a mention on the Philadelphia Music Alliance "Walk of Fame" on Broad Street. He is a full board member on the Pennsylvania Advisory Council for Drug and Alcohol Abuse and reports directly to Governor Tom Wolf.

He also co-hosts the Clean and Sober Radio show on WWDB with Steve Martorano. Steve was part of the WDAS-FM air family in the late sixties and early seventies.
