By the time of this 1976 Action News Promo, Action News was number one in the ratings. WPVI-TV's anchor at 6 pm and 11 pm was Broadcast Pioneers member Larry Kane. So the concept wasn't to make you switch to Action News, but to impress upon you that you should stay there.

A good example of this type of promo is this spot which features Larry Kane. Two in a Barbershop features Larry Kane and an older male viewer who is very much impressed by the anchor's intelligence. It was recorded in 1976 by New York Communications, owned by Broadcast Pioneers member Mike Davis, who was the genius behind this and other Action News Promos.

The promo is available in both the Real Video format and the Windows Media format. In our opinion, the version done with Real Video is a higher quality presentation.
