Broadcast Pioneers member Dick Standish tells us:

(Broadcast Pioneers member) Dick Maloney had many accomplishments in Newsradio. For a time, his basic assignment was transportation reporter. He had it as a beat. The above photo is a station promotional shot. It was used as part of a campaign stressing the reporting team.

Richard Maloney, it seems, just couldn't loose the SEPTA railroad hat. Since 1999, he has been Director of Public Affairs, of SEPTA (the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority).
