Jerry Donahue, a Broadcast Pioneer

Jerry Donahue, age 5
1936

Some of us knew Jerry Donahue as a child star on the legendary "Children's Hour" radio program on WCAU radio. The show was hosted by Stan Lee Broza, the first president of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia. This picture dates from 1936 when Jerry was only five years old.

Others of us may know Donahue as the Production Manager for WFIL (including the Famous 56 era) for decades. Broadcast Pioneers member Jerry Donahue passed away in 2002.

This snapshot, by the way, was part of a publicity poster (about 20 inches by 36 inches) for WCAU Radio and the Children's Hour broadcast.
