The Famous 56, WFIL Boss Jocks
Outside of the WFIL Studios
October 1966

Here's a pix of the WFIL Boss Jocks in the early days of "The Pop Explosion." WFIL Radio helped blaze the trail for every other rocker in the United States. When you think about the top rockers of all time, WFIL, Famous 56 would have to be in that list.

The six jocks are: Chuck Browning at the top, Jim Nettleton at the left and Dave Parks at the right. The bottom row is (left to right): Jay Cook, George Michael and Frank Smith.

According to Gene Vassall, National Sales Manager at that time, he had ordered the picture taken for use on the first WFIL album. However, our copy comes from a proof.
