Jim Loftus, Vice-President and General Manager of WOGL-FM was our speaker for our October 19th luncheon. It all took place at the Bala Golf Club in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia.
Jim Loftus is a career radio broadcaster, working full time in the industry for three decades. Jim is the Vice-President and General Manager of WOGL- FM, 98.1, one of the Infinity Broadcasting Stations in Philadelphia.
Before coming to WOGL, he was Chief Operating Officer of Shamrock Communications, based in Scranton. He oversaw the radio division’s 13 stations in Baltimore, Milwaukee, Tulsa and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and was General Manager of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre cluster.
From 1992 through 1996 Jim Loftus was Vice-President and General Manager of Susquehanna Radio Corporation’s Scranton Wilkes-Barre cluster, which grew from two to five stations during his tenure.
Loftus was Director of Sales at Power 99 FM (WUSL) from 1988 to 1992. From 1985 until 1988, he was Vice-President and General Manager at Q 102, WTLQ in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton market.
From 1983 to 1985, Jim Loftus was Local Sales Manager at WFIL/WUSL, Philadelphia. He was an Account Executive with WFIL during 1982 and then joined WCAU-FM (now WOGL-FM) in 1982.
Previous to going into sales, Jim was an Air personality and Account Executive in Northeastern PA.
Jim is on the Board of the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters and is Chairman of the board of St. Mary’s Villa Nursing home. He taught in the school of communications at Temple University for 13 years. He is a graduate of Marywood University in Scranton.

Loftus was introduced by long-time friend, Tom Monaghan of Clear Channel Radio. Broadcast Pioneers President Frank Hogan presented Jim with a Broadcast Pioneers watch.
