From a radio listing from Sunday, December 2, 1934:

“The Little Symphony” conducted by Sidney Lowenstein will return to WHAT Wednesday at 8:30 pm. “The Little Symphony” orchestra consists of 30 of Philadelphia’s professional musicians of the highest standing and they are under the direction of Mr. Lowenstein. The organization is actually a miniature symphony orchestra comprising woodwind, brass, strings and tympani.

The first half of the hour’s entertainment, a tuneful treat marking the return to the air wave of the popular dance programs presented by the Pennsylvania State Employment Service through the LWD musicians’ project – the combined dance orchestras of Johnny Benson and John Donfrey, Philadelphia dance masters and 22 of their music-wise boys.
