Cardinal John Foley in radio during 1947 at WJMJ where he worked as an announcer. After joining the priesthood, he worked as a reporter/editor for the Catholic Standard & Times. He holds a master's degree in journalism from Columbia and produced/co-hosted the Philadelphia Catholic Hour on WFIL and was co-producer of 20 episodes of "The Making of a Priest" for Group W. In '84, the Pope named Foley, President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications. He also served a commentator for NBC-TV for the Christmas Eve services. In 2007, he was elevated to Cardinal.

Scott Palmer started in the business in 1974. He has worn many hats including cameraman at WJXT-TV in Jacksonville. He went to WJKS-TV (also in Jacksonville) as a reporter and shortly thereafter became news anchor. He then went to South Carolina, North Carolina and Alabama. In 1981, he came to Philly and the WPVI-TV Sports Team where he stayed for a quarter of a century. He's now the Director of Public Affairs for the Phillies.

Steven Lubetkin also started in 1974. He worked at WMCX-FM, WJLK AM & FM in Asbury Park, NJ and then on the WRLB-FM, Long Branch. For the next quarter of a century, he held various corporate public relations positions. In 2004, he became Managing Partner of "Lubetkin Communications." The company does professional podcasts; making audio/video content for the Internet.

Douglas W. Fearn went into the field during 1966. He worked at WPEN, 950 AM as an engineer from 1966 to 1973. Then he became a consultant for WMGK (the old WPEN-FM) and then manager of WKSZ. Today, Doug in president of D.W. Fearn & Associates. The company manufactures professional vacuum tube audio recording equipment including pre-amps, equalizers, compressors and more.

Karen Curry is the Executive Director of the Kal & Lucille Rudman Institute at Drexel University. Curry before coming to Philly was the London Bureau Chief for NBC-TV and was VP and New York Bureau Chief for CNN. She was in charge of the network's extensive coverage during the terrorists attacks from September 11, 2001. She was also our main speaker at our April luncheon.

We are thrilled to have these new members. They've helped to bring our total membership up to 432 (an all-time record). We hope to see as many of you as possible at the June luncheon.
