From left to right are: Uncle Pete Boyle, unidentified, Judy Lee (lower) and Jack Pyle (upper). It dates from around 1952. Judy, Jack and Pete were celebrities from WPTZ, Channel 3 in Philadelphia.

Leon Kellerman of the Jewish Exponent e-mailed: The "unknown" could be Billie Burke who played Glinda, the Good Witch in "The Wizard of Oz."

FYI, Billie was the co-star of an NBC-TV show called, "Doc Corkle." She played the part of Melinda and it is possible that she was on a publicity tour (short lived because the program lasted only 3 weeks). WPTZ (now KYW-TV) was an NBC-TV affiliate at that time.

Greg Lyons, a visitor to our website e-mailed:

The picture (above) was given to me by my mother, who tells me I was on the Bertie the Bunyip Show on Channel 3 sometime in the mid 1950s. That's Pete Boyle on the left; me in the middle; but I can't identify the man on the right. Any ideas?

As the story goes, my uncle, Jim Lyons was doing news on channel 3 at the time, and made arrangements for me & my dad to visit the show, where this picture was taken. Jim Lyons later spent many years on the air at WBAL-TV in Baltimore.

With broadcasting in the family blood, I've been working in radio since 1967. On WRAW in Reading from 1967-1977 and since then doing the morning show at WLBR in Lebanon, PA.
