On Wednesday, December 19, 2001 at the Bala Golf Club in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia, the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia honored fellow member Sam Bushman for his years of service to the organization. At the age of 87, Sam is still pursuing his career as a Publicist. Sam considers himself a Publicity man and not a Public Relations person. To him, there's a huge difference. We have complete audio of Sam's remarks.

During his December 2001 address to us, he spoke about Powers Gouraud, famed interviewer on WCAU Radio. Here's some video about Powers.

After the presentation, there was a half hour of song performed by our very own, Broadcast Pioneers member Jane Norman. Jane may be better known to the general public as TV's "Pixanne."

Jane has been performing as a Cabaret singer in recent years. She still has a great voice and her husband, Broadcast Pioneers member Frank Beazley says that she can still fit into that "Pixanne" outfit.
