Princess Grace
Philadelphia Civic Center

1963

Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco, her husband Prince Ranier and their children, Caroline, 6 and Albert, 5 returned to her home town of Philadelphia in 1963. She was here, in part, to open the Monaco pavillion at Philadelphia's "Travel and Vacation Show" at the Civic Center, across the street from Children's Hospital.

While at the Civic Center, Grace and the Prince visited the WPEN Radio booth. They listened to a WPEN promotional recording called, "Heart of the City" and greeted WPEN officials. WPEN personnel (left to right) are: Merrill Barr, WPEN Promotion Director, Murray Arnold, General Manager of WPEN and 950 morning guy Jack Gregson. After the visit, Princess Grace said: It was a wonderful visit and we had a lovely time."
