The Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia Luncheon
Bala Golf Club, Philadelphia
Wednesday, October 18, 2006
On Wednesday, October 18, 2006, we had a very special luncheon just in time for Halloween. Our main topic was about Philadelphia's TV Horror Hosts with our very special guests:
John Zacherle, Philadelphia's very own "Roland" from Channel 10
Karen Scioli, Philly's sexy Stella from "Saturday Night Dead" on Channel 3
Bob Billbrough, Hives, the Bulter from "Saturday Night Dead"
MC: Ed Cunningham, producer/air talent from WHYY-TV & Radio!

Plus, we celebrated the career of Broadcast Pioneers member Sally Starr and her recent retirement. Sally was there, and introduced by member George Koehler, former General Manager of the WFIL stations and the other Triangle outlets. He had some interesting stories to tell!

It all took place on Wednesday, October 18th at the beautiful and historic Bala Golf Club, 2200 Belmont Avenue (across the street from the State Police) in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia.
