On Wednesday, December 20, 2006, we had a very special luncheon just in time for the Holidays! Our main speaker was Broadcast Pioneers member Jerry Lee, president and owner of B-101, the largest and most profitable independent radio station in America. He's a past president of our organization, a former "Person of the Year" and a member of our Hall of Fame.
Since Jerry's radio station is well known for playing all Christmas music just before the holidays, we felt it would only be fitting, to have a little yule music of our own. Broadcast Pioneers member Bob Jawer delighted us with a holiday medley played on the piano.
Then Broadcast Pioneers member Joe Pellegrino led us in a sing-a-long of a Christmas favorite with a guitar accompaniment by Broadcast Pioneers Vice-President Diego Castellanos.
Then Broadcast Pioneers member Bob Kravitz played the role of quizmaster for "The Broadcast Pioneers Trivia Game." Questions and answers came from our website. Winners received a new DVD of classic television shows.
Before Jerry Lee spoke, he was introduced by Broadcast Pioneers member Les Waas. Les has been a member of our club since 1965. He's a past president and member of our Hall of Fame.

Broadcast Pioneers' Board Member Dave Custis was again very generous this year. Once again, he gave out to everyone at this luncheon a free CD of Holiday & Christmas songs.
It all took place on Wednesday, December 20th at the beautiful and historic Bala Golf Club, 2200 Belmont Avenue (across the street from the State Police) in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia.
