Maxwell Football Club Golf Tournament
Monday, May 14, 1984
On Monday, May 14, 1984 at the Maxwell Football Club Golf Tournament, one "foursome" was made up of Bob Goldy, Dick Vermeil, Bill Bransome and Ray Cross.
The Maxwell Football Club, located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, is an organization involved not only in football at all levels but the community in general. It’s an organization dedicated to the concept that young people are the potential of this nation.
Broadcast Pioneers member Bill Bransome e-mails: "...The Maxwell Club presents awards each year to the Outstanding College Football Player in the country, the Outstanding Pro Player, and the Outstanding College and Pro Coaches, in addition to the Outstanding High School Player in the Delaware Valley. Founded by Bert Bell, former Commissioner of the NFL."
By the way, Bob Goldy is a member of and Legal Advisor to the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia. In 1985, our organization named Dick Vermeil as "Person of the Year." Ray Cross is the guy responsible for using Vermeil in all those Cadillac spots. Bill Bransome was a long-time member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia until his death in 2002.
