Broadcast Pioneers member John Carlton did a program on Channel 48, WKBS-TV called, "Dialing for Dollars," in 1967. The program featured a movie and live telephone calls to people selecting at random living in the Delaware Valley. The idea was that you may watch if you think you might win money. After Channel 48 took the broadcast off the air, Channel 6, WPVI-TV started their own version of the program.
