Here's Broadcast Pioneers member Ed Harvey in conversation with Bob Richards, well-known athlete and at the time of this photo, a spokesman for Wheaties cereal. Wheaties for decades has been known as "The Breakfast of Champions" and display photos of famous sports figures on their boxes. Richards was on Harvey's show representing the cereal company. The patch on Richards' sports jacket says" Wheaties Sports Federation" of which Bob Richards was Director.

Known as the "Vaulting Vicar," Bob Richards, an ordained minister was on three U.S. Olympics teams in two different events and won two gold medals. Richards appeared on a Wheaties box in 1958. He was also a spokesman for the cereal and was an important player in the setting up of "The Wheaties Sports Federation" which encouraged participation in the Olympics.
