Broadcast Pioneers member Jim Loftus started a new position on November 2, 2015 as President and CEO of More FM, WBEB-FM. He will report directly to the board of directors and will be responsible for the day to day operations of the station.
Prevously, he was Vice-President for CBS Radio, General Manager for WOGL-FM and Director of Sales for the CBS Radio Group here in Philadelphia (CBS Radio stations KYW, WIP-FM, WOGL, WPHT, WXTU and 96.5, Eagles Radio Network, Phillies Radio). He has held this position from 2005 until 2015.
Before that, from 1996 to 2005, Jim was the COO (Chief Operating Officer) for Shamrock Communications, Inc. His responsibilities there included overseeing the Radio Division of Times-Shamrock Communications, Inc. with stations in Baltimore, Milwaukee, Tulsa and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
From 1992 to 1996, he was the Market Manager for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre cluster of Susquehanna Radio Corporation. He was Vice-President and General Manager for the stations in that cluster.
From 1988 to 1992, he was Director of Sales for WUSL, Power 99. Before that, from 1985 to 1988, he was Vice-President and General Manager WTLQ (Q 102) in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Previously, he was Sales Manager for WFIL Radio and Power 99, an Account Executive for WCAU-FM Radio, WFIL Radio and WICK (AM) and WWDL-FM in Scranton, Pennsylvania. From 1977 to 1979, he was an air personality for WCDL in Carbondale, PA. From 1984 to 2007, he was an Adjunct Professor at Temple University.
He has been active in many organizations including being on the Board of Trustees of Covenant Health Systems and St. Mary’s Villa Nursing Home and Villa Residence. He is on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters and previously served in a similar position for the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce. He is married to Renee and they have a daughter, Riley.
