People on the WCAU Radio tour of Monaco
The Palace in Monaco
1962
Broadcast Pioneers member Ed Harvey hosted a telephone-talk show on WCAU Radio (now WPHT) during the sixties. Early in the talk era of Harvey, the station ran a tour to Monaco and sold space on it. Princess Grace Kelly who was from Philadelphia came out with her only daughter (at that time) Caroline. She's in the center of the above shot. A close-up of Grace and Caroline is below.

The back of this photograph says that Princess Grace's mother, Margaret is standing to Grace's left. Grace was born to two Philadelphians, John (Jack) Kelly and Margaret Majer. Margaret became the first woman to head the University of Pennsylvania's Physical Education Department. Jack was a three time gold Olympic medal winner and later became owner of a well known construction company. Kelly Drive is named after Grace's brother, Jack who was a long-time Philadelphia City Councilman.
