It was less than 18 hours before the public announcement of the purchase of More FM by Entercom and Entercom, in turn, selling WXTU to Beasley Broadcasting. We were there, 60 of us, visiting the three music stations of Entercom here in the Philadelphia Metro Market. We visited WXTU, WTDY and WOGL.

The sales are expected to be completed by the beginning of October of this year. Jerry Lee is a former President and former board member of Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia. Member Jim Loftus is currently president and CEO of More FM. Member David Yadgaroff is Senior Vice-President and Market Manager for Entercom Philadelphia.

This July Broadcast Pioneers event took place on Wednesday, July 18th. It was a FREE tour of the three music stations of Entercom Philadelphia (formerly the CBS Radio Stations). The address is 555 City Avenue, 3rd floor in Bala Cynwyd.

There were three tours. 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm. All Tours were totally filled days in advance.

When we first met, we announced that Vernon Odom will be our 2018 Person of the Year. Plus, we announced who were our 12 living inductees to our Hall of Fame for this year. We also revealed the names of our 9 posthumous inductees.
