When WFIL (Famous 56) was "the" rocker in Philadelphia, one of their newsmen was Paul Henderson. He later left the WFIL stations and joined the Mutual Radio Network, where he won a Peabody award. On December 7, 1997, he passed away.
Broadcast Pioneers member Paul Norton e-mailed: I remember Paul very well. He had the one Ayem news on TV that was very popular 30 years ago. A serious and dedicated newsman.
On Saturday, February 6, 1971, Paul did the 1 am "Action News" sign-off newscast on Channel 6. Here's an excerpt from that newscast.
