Mike Tuck & Larry Kane
Variety Club Telethon
WPVI-TV Studios
February 1974
This is a photo that was never meant to be used because of the blurriness of the top part of the picture. However, decades later, this snapshot is most interesting. In the lower right hand part of the image, you see Mike Tuck who was the main anchor at WCAU-TV and in the extreme lower right is Broadcast Pioneers member Larry Kane, who was the main anchor on WPVI's Action News. It's especially interesting because the two rivals came together for a good cause, to help the Variety Club raise money.
Connie Roussin & Ed Hurst
Variety Club Telethon
WPVI-TV Studios
February 1974
This photo shows Connie Roussin who at that time was the co-hostess of "Dialing for Dollars" which aired live every weekeday on Channel 6. Broadcast Pioneers member Ed Hurst is the male in the checkered jacket. Ed was hosting "Summertime on the Pier" during the summers over Channel 6. By the way, Ed's wife, Cissie produced the Variety Club telethon for many, many years.
