Neil Harvey
a.k.a. Dr. Harvey Neil Perlish
Broadcast Pioneers member Neil Harvey was a mainstay at WFIL-TV, Channel 6 in Philadelphia during its early years. In 1953, he was the weekday evening news anchor at the station. (Broadcast Pioneers member Nat Wright tells us that Neil was a child actor in the early days of radio). At the April 11, 2000 meeting of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia, he relates a story about one of the early live commercials. As usual in this business, what can go wrong, does go wrong.
