During October of 2009, Broadcast Pioneers Member Don Lancer wrote his own bio. It said:
A familiar and distinctive voice on CBS owned KYW Newsradio since 1970, described as the "dean" of KYW Newsradio, I served as business and financial editor for more than a quarter of a century and served as an anchor for all three plus decades of service at KYW. During a brief hiatus -1 was a Talk Show host - at CBS owned WPHT for one year 1995-96.
I've won several awards for reporting including the AP Award for first place in public affairs in major markets.
I taught lay ministers at St. Charles Boromeo Seminary in Philadelphia for five years in the late 80's and early 90's.I was a consultant to Right Associates Management of Philadelphia - in the late 80s and early 90s traveling to various cities in the country (LA, Houston, San Francisco) to present seminars on how to deliver a speech
for Right Management personnel.Bom 11/5/42 - Auburn, New York
Married - for 45 years to
wife Diane.We are a team couple in Worldwide Marriage Encounter - giving a weekend communication experience to married couples. The team consists of three married couples and a Catholic priest.

Broadcast Pioneers member Don Lancer passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011. Don also worked at WOLF Radio in Syracuse.
On Friday evening, November 18, 2011, Don Lancer was inducted posthumously into the Broadcast Pioneers' Hall of Fame.
