In 1965, WFIL-TV legendary newscaster Gunnar Back was replaced as anchor by a much younger reporter, George Redpath. There were a few more anchors before Channel 6 finally selected a young Larry Kane to anchor a new news broadcast called, "ACTION NEWS."
However, before doing his TV anchor stint at Channel 6, George Redpath was a radio newscaster on sister station, WFIL Radio. We have an excerpt of one of those Redpath newscasts. This one dates from November 30, 1964.
