On Friday evening, November 21, 2008, the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia held its annual banquet where we honored our Person of the Year, Bill Campbell and inducted six outstanding broadcasters into our Hall of Fame. Those inducted were Cathy Gandolfo, George Michael, Bob Pantano, Dave Schratwieser, Mike Strug and Ukee Washington. The evening started off with Broadcast Pioneers board member Bill Wright, Sr. singing "The Star Spangled Banner." Then W. Carter Merbreier, also on our board and known to millions as Captain Noah said the invocation. Pat Delsi and Bill "Wee Willie" Webber, two of our past presidents were the MCs for the evening.
