at the Broadcast Pioneers luncheon
Bala Golf Club, Philadelphia
On Wednesday, October 15, 2003, Broadcast Pioneers member Jay Meyers spoke at our luncheon at the Bala Golf Club in Philadelphia. Meyers, a native of Philadelphia, was Senior Vice-President of Clear Channel at the time of his remarks. That company owned over 1250 radio stations in the United States including several in our market. Jay's duties include running 200 of those broadcast outlets.
Jay Meyers told us a little about his career and the operation of Clear Channel. He was Program Director of WFIL Radio in the early eighties and started his career at WDVL, now WVLT in South Jersey. We have complete audio of his address.
We also have a two minute clip from Jay Meyers' remarks. He talked about what it was like to run 200 radio stations.
