Jim O'Brien
WFIL Radio Air Studio
1973
One of the most beloved WFIL, Famous 56 Boss Jocks is Broadcast Pioneers' Hall of Famer Jim O'Brien. Known for his "happy-go-lucky" air presence, Jim and morning newscaster Allen Stone (a member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia) made Philadelphia morning drive more pleasant and informative when Jim was doing mornings.
We have an excerpt of Jim O'Brien on WFIL Radio on a Saturday afternoon in November of 1971. It's 1:14 pm and time for O'Brien to play the WFIL "You Bet Your Bird" Contest. The winner received an RCA transistor radio.
