On Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at the Bala Golf Club in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia, the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia held their monthly meeting.

At this luncheon, the Dean of the School of Communications and Theater at Temple, Concetta M. Stewart presented an award to Broadcast Pioneers Board member Kal Rudman for his generous contributions to the university. Rudman had donated $10,000 for the purchase of two professional field cameras for the school's use.
