Almost since its inception on September 21, 1965, the voice on KYW Newsradio's legal Station Identification has been that of Broadcast Pioneers member Dick Covington. Even after Dick's death in March of 2004, KYW continued to use Covington's voice. In 1976, to honor the Bicentennial, KYW Newsradio did some special IDs. The voice, of course, is that of Dick Covington.
