Neil Harvey, an announcer for many years at WFIL Radio and Television, started in broadcasting as a child actor. He was on "The Children's Hour" on WCAU Radio in the thirties. In 1944, Neil was in the service and stationed in France. He did many reports using a wire recorder. These features were transcribed onto record and mailed back to radio stations in the United States. Some of the reports were also broadcast over Armed Forces Radio.
