Broadcast Pioneers member Caroline Foy Welch is the Vice-President of Programming for WPVI, 6ABC here in Philadelphia and she was our speaker for our Wednesday, April 19, 2006 luncheon.
The meet and greet reception started at 11:45 am with lunch beginning at 12:15 pm. It all took place at the beautiful Bala Golf Club in the Wynnefield Heights section of Philadelphia. Only a few minutes drive from both Channels 6 and 10 and the radio stations in Bala Cynwyd.

At that same luncheon, the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia awarded five $1,500 scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students studying radio, TV and film production. Awards are given to college juniors and seniors who demonstrate academic excellence and professional potential. These students and their parents got to meet many of our members who have worked decades in the business.
